I am an English major-turned-accountant working on my M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language. (Wait, Intro to Literature didn’t prepare you for the business world?) Accounting is a good career and it fits me because I like rules and order and spreadsheets and I am math-capable. No matter how much I enjoy it, though, I am more enthused about language. I love to observe it, study it, take it apart and see how it works, and – best of all – figure out how to explain it to other people.
If life is a story, I am one of the supporting characters.
I am the friend who can stretch “let’s have coffee” into three hours of chatting and listening,
the teasing sister who actually thinks you are pretty cool,
the coworker who always has chocolate and a listening ear,
the daughter who remembers all those life lessons and quotes them back to you when you do not want to hear them,
the English major who proofs your essays and can explain why something should be different.
This blog is a place for me to compile answers to questions people frequently ask, to chronicle adventures, to tell stories. Feel free to jump in and share your own questions, answers, adventures, and stories in the comments. I love hearing stories.
